George Bush Presidential Library and Museum Tour
Saturday Morning, July 14 Tour Option
A visit to the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University is sure to delight and highlights the record and life of George H.W. Bush, 41st President of the United States. The goal of the museum and library is to promote civic literacy and increased historical understanding of our national experience, and to foster a community of public service and volunteerism.
Not only is George H. W. a member of the Patrick Henry Chapter of the Texas SAR so is his son, George W! Both Barbara Bush and her daughter-in-law are members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Wouldn’t it be grand if a member of the Bush family could be inducted into the SAR during 2018?
Travel time to the Bush 41 Museum is a brisk 100 minutes. While on the bus, you will see a video produced by the museum which will enhance your visit. In the museum, you will see both the changing exhibit as well as Bush memorabilia such as a WWII Avenger Torpedo Bomber. Bush 41 was a decorated Navy pilot who flew torpedo bombers and in 1944 he was shot down over the island of Chi Chi Jima. You will also see Replicas of the Situation Room and Camp David Office. Have your photo made in the Oval Office. Grab the phone and call your favorite world leader!
A luncheon surprise is in the offing and may include a chuckwagon meal with all the trimmings. To enhance your experience, you may choose to join in a docent lead tour or explore on your own. Group photos are sure to happen. Explore your surroundings and discover a section of the Berlin Wall.
Note: Until tours are finalized events are subject to change.
