President Tracy Pounders called the meeting to order at 8:03 a.m.

Chaplain Frank Pounders gave the sick call, asking for prayer for Robert McKellar and Judy McCoy. He then led those present in prayer.

Honors to the USA, Texas, and SAR flags were led by Bert Huls, Ralph McDowell, and Martin Lyford, respectively.

Acting Sergeant-at-Arms Rick Fawkes directed the stampede to breakfast while the meeting was put on "hold."

President Tracy Pounders reconvened the meeting at 8:22 by reading a tribute to those who died on 9/11/2001, and those who sacrificed to put an end to terrorism.

Eight guests were introduced, and Treasurer Elvin Brown announced that 37 members were present.

Art Ingalls educated the group with his unique humorous interlude.

Awards Vice President Tom Smith presented Certificates of Appreciation to Elvin Brown, Charles & Barbara Baker, and Jack & Sarah Carney for their work on the 75^th Anniversary Celebration.

Program V.P. Tom Whitelock introduced Deborah Kim, originally from Korea, who is now a missionary to the Phillippines. Mrs. Kim thanked America and Americans for providing the "police force" to help rid the world of tyrannical dictators and criminals who try to take over countries against the will of the people. She has seen this pattern first hand in her native land (Korea) and in her mission land (Phillippines) with whose people she now works. She ended her short speech of heartfelt thanks with a traditional deep Korean bow to the compatriots who were present.

Registrar Mel McCoy announced that the Dallas Chapter now has 291 members with 14 new applicants pending and 4 supplementals pending. He deferred to Genealogist-General Ed Butler who swore in new members Jack Blase and Richard Reed.

Color Guard Commander Charles Baker announced the Patriot James Blair Hogg Grave Marking Ceremony for 2 p.m. that same day in the Hogg Family Cemetery in Hogg State Park in Rusk, Texas. He also mentioned the successful August 31 "Welcome Home R&R Troops" Day at DFW Airport, and the Veterans Day Parade coming up on November 11.

Tom Whitelock introduced Allen Christian who gave the Americanism presentation on personal experiences and remembrances of his life as an Eagle Scout and as an APO member in college. He called attention to the service-oriented life of the Eagle Scout, pointing out that half of the members of the APO service fraternity, of which he was a member in college, were Eagle Scouts. He ended by having the more than 12 Comptriot-Scouts present in the room recite the 12-point Scout Law, and related these 12 points to the 9/11/01 tragedy. Over 3000 people died on 9/11/01, but only 2400 died at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. People who criticize and politicize the War on Terrorism need to be reminded that American's entry into World War II was triggered by a less deadly attack than that at 9/11.

President Pounders presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Compatriot Bill Welch for his work as Chairman of the Essay Contest for three years.

Tom Whitelock introduced SAR Genealogist-General Judge Edward butler who spoke on the historic origins of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Tracing historic milestones from Ancient Greece, to the duties and privileges of Roman citizens, to the Holy Roman Empire, the Magna Carta, the English Chancery, the Mayflower Compact of 1620, the Habeas Corpus Act of 1678, the English Bill of Rights of 1689, the Act of Toleration of 1690, the First Continental Congress of 1774, the Virginia Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence of 1776, the Massachusetts Bill of Rights of 1780, the Articles of Confederation of 1781, and the inputs of various philosophers and specific colonies, he gave a fascinating overview of how our Constitution was constructed and why it has survived with a minimum number of amendments for these 215 years. All present were thankful for such a concise and intriguing view of our Constitution at this beginning of this year's Annual Constitution Week.

Tom Whitelock presented Speaker Ed Butler a Certificate of Appreciation and a very ornate magnifying glass for studying genealogy.

President Pounders recognized James Henderson, President of the CAR Three Forks of the Trinity Chapter.

Treasurer Elvin Brown held the door prize drawing.
